Virgin Megastores Announce Artist In-Store Performance Line-Up for '100 Acts of Support: Concerts for Tsunami Relief'

Virgin Megastore Chain to Host 100 Live Band Performances in a Single Day to Raise Money for Tsunami Victims

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Virgin Entertainment Group, North America, announces today the artist line-up for Virgin Megastore's "100 Acts of Support: The Concerts for Tsunami Relief" on Thursday, January 20th. The one-day event will include 100 live band/artist performances across the country, with all proceeds from the event being donated to the Music for Relief Fund in support of the American Red Cross* fundraising efforts, for the victims of last month's tsunami.

"We are very grateful to all of the artists who are donating their time to the 100 Acts of Support project," says Dave Alder, chief marketing officer, Virgin Entertainment Group, North America. "It is great to see such a diverse group of musical talent coming together for this important cause."

A minimum of five acts are scheduled to perform in each of the 20 North American Virgin Megastores. Fans who attend the concert will be offered the chance to purchase a $2 bracelet which will allow them an opportunity to show their support for the event. Each Virgin Megastore will also display donation boxes and host a silent auction including autographed Gibson guitars, signed posters from Alanis Morrisette, Robbie Williams, REM, Nick Cave and the producers of Garden State, a Rolling Stones lithograph, autographed Aerosmith boxer shorts, and gym memberships, just to name a few, with all proceeds from the bracelets, donation boxes and auction items going to the fundraising effort.
