St. Louis Cardinals Select Tickets.com as Official Ticketing Provider Beginning With the 2005 Major League Baseball Season

COSTA MESA, Calif., Jan. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Tickets.com and the 2004 National League Champions, the St. Louis Cardinals, entered into a comprehensive, multi-year, full services ticketing agreement; it was announced today by Carl Thomas, Tickets.com executive vice president sales and marketing. Under the agreement, Tickets.com will provide advanced ticketing capabilities, including a state-of-the-art Access Control bar code reading system, Tickets@Home(R), and the Prime Seat Club, a team sanctioned and controlled secondary market product. The Cardinals will also install Tickets.com's ProVenue(TM) Automated Ticketing Kiosks, a self-service ticketing system, at the current Busch Stadium. Notably, the agreement also encompasses the brand new Busch Stadium, which will open in April 2006.

"After a competitive selection process, we are excited the Cardinals chose to partner with Tickets.com to provide their fans with the best ticketing service available," stated Thomas. "Tickets.com has led the ticketing industry in delivering pioneering technology to Major League Baseball teams, including our first-to-market automated ticketing kiosks and secondary market product. We look forward to providing the latest, most convenient ticketing tools in the marketplace."

"Tickets.com has demonstrated itself to be a proven leader in implementing advanced ticket purchasing and distribution options for Major League Baseball teams," stated Dan Farrell, St. Louis Cardinals senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We are confident that St. Louis fans will enthusiastically embrace the new options being delivered by Tickets.com for the 2005 regular season."

Tickets.com will deploy its comprehensive ticketing solution to the St. Louis Cardinals for the 2005 Major League Baseball season. Cardinals' fans will now have added ticket purchasing and distribution options available to them including the following:

ProVenue(TM) Automated Kiosk: The touch-screen kiosk offers a convenient and reliable 24/7 location where fans can pick-up will call tickets. The "no touch" option for same-day will call delivers tickets in less than ten seconds. Similar to airports, the deployment of these kiosks eliminates long lines at the box office and frees up staff to concentrate on customer service and other duties.

"My Tickets" Digital Ticket Management: Branded My Cardinals Tickets by the Cardinals, this technology enables fans to manage their total ticket and account inventory including season tickets, mini plans, and single game tickets. The key feature is the Prime Seat Club, a team sanctioned and controlled secondary market product enabling season ticket holders to re-sell unused tickets or forward them at no charge to friends, family and co-workers. My Cardinals Tickets is the "next generation" of digital ticket account management providing a flexible, easy-to-use web interface, which benefits the team, season ticket holder, and single game ticket buyer.

Tickets@Home(R): The absolute fastest way to get tickets, Tickets@Home enables fans to instantly and securely print tickets purchased online from the comfort of a home or office computer. Each ticket is printed with a unique barcode to prevent fraud and then authenticated at the ballpark using hand-held and turnstile scanning devices. This technology not only ensures quick and convenient entry for each fan, but with each scan, it also delivers real-time information back to the box office about ticket usage, fan behavior and entry patterns.

Targeted Group Sales: The Targeted Group Sales function allows special groups to self-administer and promote their own game-day outings from a pool of pre-determined password protected tickets. This time-saving marketing tool facilitates the sale of group tickets within an organization without manually managing inventory.

Online Season Renewals: The most convenient purchase option for customers, online Season Renewals permits fans to renew their season tickets securely and conveniently from the privacy of their home or office.

Through its preferred provider agreement with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), Tickets.com continues to extend advanced ticketing services to baseball teams and their fans. Among the Major League Baseball clubs utilizing Tickets.com's products including online group sales, online coupons, online season renewals, and new season ticket sales, are the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers.
