Scot Petersen Named Editor of eWEEK
NEW YORK, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ziff Davis Media Inc. announced today the promotion of Scot Petersen to Editor of their leading enterprise newsweekly publication, eWEEK. The award-winning business technology magazine reaches more than 400,000 subscribers every week in print and online. As Editor, Mr. Petersen is responsible for the content and quality of the weekly publication as well as eWEEK's demographic editions. He will report directly to Eric Lundquist, Editor-in-Chief, eWEEK.
Mr. Petersen was previously News Editor of the publication. "Scot and his team have done a great job of transforming the magazine to bring its readers crucial information about the strategic use of enterprise technology in business," said Eric Lundquist. "He is a well-respected journalist who demonstrates the kind of editorial leadership and quality that distinguishes Ziff Davis from others in the marketplace."
A recognized expert on business computing, Mr. Petersen has been covering the high-tech industry for over 10 years, 19 in journalism. He has held various editorial roles at eWEEK and has increased his level of responsibility with each position. Mr. Petersen joined eWEEK as Department Editor in 1995 where he managed the Servers and Databases section of the publication. Later he helped launch the magazine's first Internet, Intranet Builder and Internet Economy sections. He was promoted to Deputy News Editor in 1999 and News Editor in 2000. In addition to his editorial duties, he currently writes the publication's "News Edge" column. Before joining Ziff Davis Media, Mr. Petersen held editorial positions at the Boston Herald, Boston Business Journal and Beverly Times. He holds an M.A. in English from Northeastern University.
