Latest New Systems for Data Over IP

LIPHOOK, England, January 21/PRNewswire/ -- Patapsco Communications, the telecoms engineering specialist, is
exhibiting at Spring VON Show in California on 7-10 March 2005.



At its stand, 320, it will be profiling two newly launched PacketBand
products that enable users to transport clocked synchronous data over IP
networks. Aimed at carriers, mobile operators, systems integrators and large
corporate users, PacketBand offers sizeable cost savings and can generate new
business opportunities. Other products will include Liberator Duo, a new
system to enable carriers to maximise and extend the range of their ISDN
circuits and Patapsco's world-class Liberator S system.



Launched earlier this month, PacketBand TDM enables IP networks to
emulate leased lines (CESoIP or TDMoIP), so allowing synchronous clocked or
legacy data to be delivered over IP, MPLS, Metro and Ethernet networks. As
leased lines are more costly than IP, this new system will substantially
reduce operating costs for organisations running IP networks. Additionally,
it will enable systems integrators to offer leased line services over an IP
network, so opening up potential new markets.



Its sister product, PacketBand ISDN is a unique system that is due for
launch in February. This offers full ISDN emulation, so allowing switched
applications such as video conferencing, encryption and backup over an IP
network.



Other products include the new Liberator Duo and Liberator S. These
optimise the use of ISDN channels by enabling conversion, contention and
sharing of PRI and BRI circuits. Furthermore, the Duo provides a two-wire 'U'
and/or 'S' interface for carriers wishing to extend the distances covered by
their network, or for those who currently only deliver PRI and wish to extend
their portfolio to include BRI. Liberator S is installed in large corporates,
government organisations and utility companies worldwide.
