Orb Networks and ADS Tech Enter Agreement to Bundle Streaming Media Solution With Its Suite of Multimedia & Networking Products

ADS Customers Will Have Spontaneous Access to Digital Home Media Anywhere in the World, From Virtually Any Internet Enabled Device; Demonstration to Be Held at CES 2005

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Orb Networks, Inc., a leading developer of streaming media software and services, and ADS Tech, today announced a licensing agreement to bundle Orb's streaming media solution with selected TV Tuner products giving customers the ultimate flexibility to be connected to their digital media all the time, from anywhere in the world. ADS Tech will give live, hands-on demonstration of this new breakthrough service at the 2005 International CES tradeshow in Las Vegas, January 6-9 in booth #21833 South Hall.

Imagine being able to watch live TV and home videos while sitting at your favorite cafe or listen to your entire music collection on any device while waiting at the airport for your plane to arrive. Orb's new streaming media service allows you to do just that. Using Orb's Media solution, ADS Tech customers will be able to access and control the features and functionalities of USBAV-705 and PTV-305 TV tuner cards from any device that can connect to the Internet, such as a cell phone, PDA, or notebook.

Orb Networks' subscription-based media software will be included on all CDs shipped with USBAV-705 and PTV-305 TV tuner cards to complete this digital connection for the consumer. All the user needs to do is install the software and within minutes they will be able to stream their digital home media to personal Internet-enabled devices across the globe. Orb's service is available starting at just $9.99 per month or $79.99 per year for the first user. Those customers who order the Orb service through ADS Tech will also receive 2 months of free service.

"There are millions of consumers with mobile devices that aren't able to take full advantage of the digital content capabilities that those devices actually offer," said Mike McCoy, president, ADS Tech. "ADS already provides a host of multimedia products for the home. Orb's solution allows our customers to take advantage of all the features our products and their mobile devices provide, but with the added benefit of accessing them outside the home. We think this is a service that will be embraced by our customers."

"We're extremely excited to offer our service with ADS' high-quality multimedia products," said James Behrens, CEO, Orb Networks. "Through the integration of Orb's service, ADS customers gain an easy, flexible solution to meet their fast-paced lifestyles. Until today, the boundaries have been limited -- now, consumers can have uninhibited, spontaneous remote access to all of their digital home media."

In a separate press release issued today, Orb Networks introduced Orb Media 1.0 at the 2005 International CES tradeshow. Orb's first product introduction marks a breakthrough in streaming digital media services. Using any Web browser, Orb provides a simple, intuitive interface to the user's content located on their home PC or on the Internet allowing users to create their own "personal media portal." Users can now see their home videos, listen to their favorite songs, or watch live TV on virtually any of their Internet-connected devices. By removing the complexity and limitations of many of today's digital entertainment products and services, Orb's software architecture leverages the best features of today's popular standards while abiding by current digital rights management solutions.
