Los Angeles Press Club Seminar Will Explore the New Face of Sports Journalism
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Jan. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Super Bowl is just around the corner, so what better time to debate the nexus between professional sports and the media?
The Los Angeles Press Club announced today that it will present a seminar on 21st Century Sports Journalism on Wednesday February 2, featuring an all-star panel of local journalists and publicists. The event, at the L.A. Press Club's headquarters (6464 Sunset Blvd., 8th floor, Hollywood), will last from 6:00 to 9:00.
Debating modern-day sports coverage will be:
* L.A. Times Columnist J.A. Adande
* KCAL 9 Lead Sports Anchor Alan Massengale
* ESPN Radio 710 "Big Show" Co-host Steve Mason
* Los Angeles Dodgers Public Relations Director John Olguin

Moderating will be Reason magazine Associate Editor and media columnist Matt Welch.
Panelists will explore a variety of themes, including: * The love/hate relationship between teams (and fans) and their hometown paper * The Dodgers' PR problems this off-season * How to cover increasingly aloof pro athletes * The ESPN factor * Tips for the novice sports journalist * Interesting developments online * and more!
The seminar is open to the public with $5 admission charge for Press Club members, and $15 for non-members, free to those joining the club that evening.
