IP Applications Signs Services Contract with Electrolinks to Deliver Canada's First Commercial Broadband Over Power Lines (BPL) Offering

VANCOUVER, BC, Jan. 26 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- IP Applications Corp. ('IP Applications') (TSX-Venture: IPX), a leading provider of comprehensive outsourced Internet solutions, today announced it has signed an agreement with leading Canadian BPL provider Electrolinks Corporation of Toronto, a leading provider of commercial Broadband Over Power Lines (BPL) solutions.

BPL technology uses the power grid to deliver high speed data along with electricity enabling robust Internet access and a host of other essential applications including demand side management to assist the power company in metering and managing the delivery of power to the end user.

Electrolinks provides 128-bit encrypted High Speed data and voice solutions that utilize any electrical infrastructure using BPL. Electrolinks' solutions can be mass deployed in hotels, condominiums, malls, schools, government, and residential areas - servicing Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer markets. In addition, Electrolinks provides an Industrial Access BPL solution, training and BPL network toolkit for rollout through Hydro Utilities across North America.

Under the one year agreement IP Applications will provide the turnkey back office solution including account management, billing, service provisioning, reporting and technical services required to support Electrolinks' Power1 Network Solution, Canada's first commercial BPL offering targeted to high density commercial and residential buildings in North America.
