WHAT: BODY WORLDS 2 will be on display for the first time in America at
the California Science Center, January 29 through March 27, 2005.
Members of the media are invited to a news conference and media
preview of BODY WORLDS 2 on January 28, at 8:30 a.m.

Due to the tremendous popularity of BODY WORLDS: The Anatomical
Exhibition of Real Human Bodies, which welcomed 660,019 visitors,
Dr. Gunther von Hagens, creator of BODY WORLDS and inventor of
the plastination technique, now launches BODY WORLDS 2 in the
Americas. Revealing significant insights about human anatomy,
physiology and health not available in the previous exhibit BODY
WORLDS 2 reveals new insights of the body in mesmerizing detail.

BODY WORLDS 2 displays a very dynamic second generation of
plastinates, most of them in athletic poses that demonstrate the
play of muscles and organs in action. With a deeper focus on
medical education, this exhibition offers an advanced lesson in
human anatomy. Plastinates act as teaching tools used for the
professional education of students. Highlights include:

* "Death Spiral: Elegance on Ice," an ice skating couple
demonstrating each individual's muscular system and
juxtaposing the female and male form

* "Orthopedic Man," showing a variety of surgically implanted
orthopedic devices

* "Camel and Baby Camel" acting as representatives of
comparative anatomy, showing their complex digestive system

* "Suicide by Fat -- Obesity Revealed" shows fat tissue and
its ability to shorten life by damaging vital organs like
the heart.

More than 200 real human body specimens, 25 whole body
plastinates healthy and unhealthy organs, body parts and slices
make up this 20,000 sq. ft. exhibit.

We invite you to preview this unprecedented look at the structure
and function of the human body offering an unforgettable lesson
on the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle. BODY WORLDS is
