GoldenPalace.com to Help 9-Year-Old Child Beat Cancer

GoldenPalace.com to Help 9-Year-Old Child Beat Cancer

ST. JOHNS, Antigua, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- GoldenPalace.com, the Internet casino that recently made headlines with such unusual eBay purchases including a holy grilled cheese sandwich, haunted walking cane, and Titanic heirloom, has now purchased a bumper sticker for $10,700 USD.

The bumper sticker "Frank Must Die" was put up for auction by the family of David Dingman-Grover, a 9-year-old boy suffering from cancer. The boy named the malignant tumor at the base of his skull Frankenstein, figuring if he could get over being scared of a monster, he could get over being scared of the tumor. He is determined not to let Frank beat him. As he and his parents put it ... Frank Must Die.

Those three words were put on a bumper sticker and auctioned off on eBay in the hopes of raising money for a critical operation that will determine whether the tumor is still malignant. However, the tumor runs through David's carotid artery, making the biopsy a huge risk, and forcing doctors to literally remove the boy's face in order to get to the tumor. Fortunately David's mother found an alternative at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles; where doctors can get to the tumor through the boy's nose.

"It's a very specialized thing within pediatric neurosurgery," said David's oncologist, Dr. Jay Greenberg. "There's only like five guys around the country comfortable doing this."

The medical expenses have been considerable. David's mother has been auctioning personal items on eBay to help pay the bills. Making reference to a recent eBay purchase by GoldenPalace.com, the family has said that if somebody would pay $28,000 USD for a grilled cheese sandwich thought to bear the image of the Virgin Mary, somebody might pay big money to help their son.

"All of us at Golden Palace have been moved by David's courage and determination to beat this disease," said GoldenPalace.com CEO Richard Rowe. "When we heard about this situation we did not hesitate for a second to jump into the bidding. I think everyone knows somebody that has been affected by cancer, and we hope our contribution will help David to recover and inspire courage in others with his story."

GoldenPalace.com has been doing their part to raise money for various charities through their eBay purchases and other campaigns worldwide. So far they have raised approximately $500,000 for needy causes around the globe, including the Tsunami disaster in Southeast Asia through the purchase of the website http://www.tsunamirelief.com/.
