Does Online Dating Work? CatholicSingles.com Has Many Success Stories to Prove It Does
LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif., Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- CatholicSingles.com, the premier internet dating service for single Catholic adults of all ages, has a story to tell -- hundreds of them, in fact, of previous members who are now married, engaged, or in a committed relationship.
"Seven years ago when I started CatholicSingles.com the idea of online dating was foreign to most people," says company president David Nevarez. "But today over half of the singles in the United States have used one form of online dating in their life. The impression that online dating is 'strange' or 'only for geeks' has all but disappeared."
The exact number of engagements and marriages that have taken place between CatholicSingles.com members isn't known, but the number keeps growing, says Tom Johnson, Director of Marketing for CatholicSingles.com.
"We've received hundreds of letters from past members. We also find out about many others through word of mouth from people we meet at different events across the country," Johnson says. "Sometimes I'll have 15 to 20 people approach me in a single day to inform me they either know someone who got married because they met on CatholicSingles.com or they are the success story themselves."
Johnson offers this advice for people trying to improve their chances of meeting someone:
Be yourself. This sounds obvious, but so many people think they need to
put on a different face to impress someone. The most impressive thing
you can do is be your honest self.
Be confident. Johnson reads many profiles each week and continually
finds people write statements like, "I've given up on love so I'm trying
this" or "I don't really have anything interesting to say." That's all
wrong. "People want someone in their life to lift them up, not bring
them down," Johnson says.
Take a chance. When people complain that nobody has contacted them,
Johnson's first response is "Have you tried to contact someone else?"
Invariably the answer is no. You need to take a chance and introduce
yourself. A simple, 'Hi, I wanted to meet you' will suffice.
Expand your borders. Don't just stick to a search within a 10-mile
radius of your location. Many success stories found each other across
the state and even across the country.
Post a good photo. You don't have to be a supermodel, but you should at
least be smiling and look approachable. Too many members have photos in
which they look angry or you can barely see them. People do want to put
a face to the name.
Be patient. Love takes time. Don't expect to find your soul mate after
a month or two of being on a dating service. Just like any relationship,
you need to get to know people and take it slow.

I would like to saw that Mr. David Lazurus should not be representing the Catholic Faith. He has harrassed, slandered and threatened other Catholics. Do not give your business or contact info to this very sick man. He is on CatholicHypocrites.com and CatholicHeretics.com. There is even a video of him stocking, threatening and harrassing another catholic at a Catholic church. Right after a Catholic Service. That clear displays how sick and demanted he is. Charges will be filed against him.
