Comcast Opens Up Signal on South Asian Cable TV News Channels: Zee TV, TV Asia and International Channel

Comcast Opens Up Signal on South Asian Cable TV News Channels: Zee TV, TV Asia and International Channel

Now, More South Asian American Comcast Customers Can Track Tsunami Recovery

Efforts From Local News Channels in their Homelands

*** Tsunami Disaster News Resource ***

WHAT: Beginning today, Comcast will open up the signal for three South
Asian television news sources -- TV Asia, Zee TV and
International Channel -- so that most Comcast Cable customers
(with a Digital set-top box), even those that are not currently
subscribing to these channels, can watch news of the Tsunami
recovery efforts as broadcast from their homelands at no
additional cost. Normally these channels are available only by
paid, monthly subscription.

WHEN: January 6, 2005 - January 31, 2005

WHERE: All Dallas metroplex homes with Comcast Digital Cable service.
TV Asia will be on channel 665. Zee TV will be on channel 664.
The International Channel will be on the Digital Classic level of
service on channel 240 in Dallas, Mesquite, Plano and Richardson,
and on channel 108 in all other local communities.

WHY: In an effort to do our part during this tragic, natural disaster,
Comcast is working around the clock to get the signal opened up
so we can connect our customers to the most up-to-date
information available from Asia. News about the Tsunami recovery
efforts will be especially important to South Asian Americans in
Texas who desperately seek information about the welfare of
family and friends in their homelands.

It is our hope that in this small way, Comcast can play a role in
helping during this difficult time.

HOW: Zee TV, TV Asia and International Channel will be made available
automatically to Comcast Cable customers in the Dallas Metroplex
where these networks are available. A Digital set-top box and
remote control are required to receive the signal. Customers DO
NOT need to request the channels or make any changes to their
existing equipment. Customers who have questions may call
1-800-Comcast.

CONTACT: Angel Biasatti, +1-972-830-3811, or Joe Lengfellner, +1-972-830-3890, both of Comcast Cable.
