Capital IQ Chosen as Finalist for Two 2005 SIIA Codie Awards

NEW YORK, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's today announced that its Capital IQ division, a leading provider of high-impact information solutions to the global investment and financial services communities, was selected by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) as a finalist in the 20th Annual Codie Awards for "Best Online Professional Financial Information Service" and "Best Solution Integrating Content Into An Application".

This is the second consecutive year that Capital IQ has been selected as a finalist for the Codie Awards. In 2004, Capital IQ was a finalist for the "Best Software Service" category. The Codie Awards showcase the software and information industry's most innovative products and services through journalist and peer reviews.

"It is a great honor for Capital IQ to be selected as a finalist in not one, but two categories in this year's Codie Awards," said Randall Winn, Managing Director of Capital IQ. "We are pleased to be recognized by the media as well as our competitors in the software and information industry for the innovative solutions we provide to our clients."

"The 20th Annual Codie Awards continue the tradition of honoring the best of the software, content, and education technology industries," said Ken Wasch, SIIA President. "When one considers the number of outstanding companies that competed this year, being named a Codie Awards finalist is a significant achievement."

Capital IQ shares top honors with four others in both the "Best Online Professional Financial Information Service" and "Best Solution Integrating Content Into An Application" categories. The 2005 Codie Awards winners will be announced at a gala event on May 25, 2005 at Universal Studios' Globe Theater in Universal City, California.
