AMN Corporation Announces 'iAMN' Point-to-Point Music Recording Collaboration Framework

AMN Corporation Announces 'iAMN' Point-to-Point Music Recording Collaboration Framework

WASHINGTON, Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- AMN Corporation, a global media application developer of industry solutions including MovieBroker, MediaBroker(TM), MusicBroker and Mediaflow Services, has announced an exciting new media framework called iAMN (pronounced "I am"). The technology provides online professional quality audio recording services catered towards recording artists, engineers, producers and end-users world-wide using their PC, Mac, set-top box or mobile device used to capture audio streams, making them accessible to other users and musicians who participate with the service. The iAMN provides very simple, easy-to-use access enabling its users to quickly perform and share music and sound tracks with other users and groups. The framework is designed with the professional artist in mind with regards to reliability, quality, speed, and accuracy. The solution uses a combination of embedded software with human performance to operate the 24/7 music recording network.

"The idea of delivering a single source of talent to multiple points is now possible with this truly innovative system", says AMN founder Dale Schalow. "I remember working with professionals long ago where I was in a hurry to capture that perfect take knowing this individual or group was booked somewhere else that same afternoon. This is something that should not take the place of existing studios or the music business itself, but rather provide creative assistance converging points to build repositories, materials and works and in the end delivering significant results with a long-range, low- cost investment."

The iAMN user is required to interface a microphone or dedicated line-in to the web to take advantage of scaleable recording and mixing services within the application. The system is capable of supporting a variety of formats including high-quality AIF, WAV, MP3 and AAC (Advanced Audio Coding). A broadband connection, such as cable, satellite, T1 or DSL, is also required to uplink recorded material to the network. "We're currently looking at just the audio aspects for the solution," says Schalow. "Some testing has been performed with visual media that may not be a viable option for the marketplace until additional usability studies are conducted and the results analyzed."

The average cost per user for the initial service is based on a fee estimated initially between 25-100 dollars per hour depending on the project's requirements and security. AMN, the holder of the technology, is in discussions with a select few professional points, mainly technical audio professionals and engineers, to initiate the framework presence. The company is projecting a launch date within the next 12 to 18 months making it available in the U.S. and U.K. by mid 2006.
