Stinger Systems Announces TruVu Gun Camera

Stinger Systems Announces TruVu Gun Camera

Patent Pending Camera Records Four Hours of DVD-Quality Video - Reduces Officer Liability, Increases Officer Accountability

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stinger Systems, Inc. (Pink Sheets: STIY.PK), a provider of advanced non-lethal technologies, today announced the availability of its patent pending TruVu gun camera as an attachment for the Company's flagship projectile stun weapon, the Stinger. The TruVu system will be offered as an add-on to the Stinger and will ship with the weapon in early first quarter of 2005.

The TruVu is a natural technological extension of the widely accepted use of video recording equipment in patrol cars taking video capture from the patrol car, to the incident and crime scene. Law enforcement professionals and administrators will now be able to view incidents and officer responses from their Windows(R) PC's and use the captured video as both a training tool, and a check on proper use of force procedures.

"The TruVu audio/video system now affords law enforcement professionals the ultimate in accountability in situations where The Stinger is used," said Robert Gruder, Chairman and CEO of Stinger Systems. "Older technologies used confetti dropped from the firing cartridge to verify the use of a stun weapon at a crime scene. The confetti merely verified that a stun weapon was fired. With a flick of the safety, the TruVu camera verifies all activities that have occurred and Stinger's patent pending technology allows for a tamper proof, chain of custody guarantee and download of the video."

SECURE DOWNLOAD OF VIDEO TO INSURE CHAIN OF CUSTODY

To preserving the integrity of evidence in the form of TruVu audio and video files, TruVu files are downloaded via USB1.1 (2.0 compatible) to a Windows(R) compatible software application that is shipped with the TruVu system. Once installed, downloaded audio/video files are encrypted, archived and then password protected to prevent against accidental erasure or edit. TruVu files will not download if a user attempts to download audio and video files to a generic Windows Media Player.

The TruVu camera is a side-mounted option on both the two and four shot Stinger. The TruVu can also operate independently of the weapon.
