SolarMetric and Trifork Announce Sales and Marketing Alliance; Trifork Brings Kodo JDO to German and Danish Development Teams
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Numerous competing persistence options are available for Java architects, and to many, it may seem difficult to find the persistence solution that is certain to meet requirements now and in the future. The choice is made more difficult because experts disagree on whether JDO or EJB is the right path to follow. Despite recent efforts to bring the JDO and EJB Expert Groups together to cooperate, there is no clear answer to what the future will bring.
"From purely a technical viewpoint, Trifork sees JDO as the more mature of the two standards," says Jorn Larsen, CEO at Trifork. "That is why we have chosen to bring Kodo JDO to our customers. The investment our customers make today in Kodo will not be lost as the EJB 3 and JDO 2 specifications evolve - SolarMetric's commitment to providing an interoperable solution between both specifications will ensure this."
Trifork enters an exclusive agreement with SolarMetric Inc., a software company specializing in object persistence. Under the agreement, Trifork will sell, market, and support Kodo JDO in the European market.
"We are thrilled to have Trifork's team helping increase adoption of Kodo JDO in Germany and Denmark," said Neelan Choksi, President of SolarMetric. "Customers of the Trifork Application Server have been able to leverage Kodo JDO to handle their object persistence for several years now. Our interactions with Trifork's team made it clear that Trifork was well positioned to bring the benefits of Kodo JDO to the European market. This alliance with Trifork along with our SolarMetric Europe office allows us to provide local sales and support to our rapidly growing European customer base."
"This relationship with SolarMetric was driven by our customers who were demanding high quality enterprise persistence solutions," says Larsen. "Kodo JDO is a best-in-class persistence solution with a strong customer base. Expanding on our strengths in the enterprise Java market with Kodo JDO made perfect sense as we continue to grow."
