OpenTV Appoints Cable Veteran Tim Evard Senior Vice President and General Manager, Marketing and Applications Products

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- OpenTV Corp. (NASDAQ:OPTV) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer James A. (Jim) Chiddix announced today the appointment of widely respected cable industry veteran Tim Evard to the newly created position of senior vice president and general manager, marketing and applications products. Evard will lead OpenTV's applications business and oversee all marketing efforts for the company.

Evard most recently served as president and chief executive officer for Broadband iTV (BBiTV), an interactive television company that uses iTV technology to deliver community based content. Evard has held numerous senior roles in the cable industry, including serving as president and co-founder of the Time Warner Road Runner high-speed cable data business and senior vice president of marketing for Time Warner Cable.
