On December 16, 2004, Nighthawk Systems announced that is had sold its PT1000 product to fire departments in King County and Snohomish County, Washington to assist with the receipt of a wireless dispatch and the simultaneous automation of several functions within the fire house receiving the dispatch. According to the AXcess News article, an RF engineering shop serving municipalities' public safety needs in the Northwest believes the PT1000 system will be of interest to other public safety agencies. Nighthawk's PT1000 is a highly intelligent unit; a single unit can perform a wide variety of tasks for different applications. In a firehouse, a single Nighthawk unit will typically receive a wireless dispatch and simultaneously activate wake up alarms, activate the building public address system, disconnect appliances and open bay doors. The PT1000 is also currently used for factory automation and traffic control applications.
