Leading Website Launches Multi-Media "Shabbat" Site

Aish.com Features Hundreds of Stories, Songs, Recipes, and Activities for Children

JERUSALEM, Israel, December 2/PRNewswire/ -- Aish.com, the world's leading Jewish content site with 1.9
million visits monthly, has launched a new multi-media website on the theme
of "Shabbat," including a how-to guide, stories, songs, recipes, and
activities for children.

The new site -- online at www.aish.com/shabbat -- features
hundreds of pages of articles, music and video, designed to inspire both
beginners and advanced.

"Our idea is to bring the beauty of Shabbat -- the songs, the
food, the inspiring words of Torah -- right to the computer desktop," said
Rabbi Shraga Simmons of Aish.com. "People can take this wealth of information
and bring it into their home every week, all across the globe."

Aish.com has 115,000 subscribers to its free email newsletters
on topics of spirituality, family, dating, Israel, Jewish history, and the
Holocaust.

The new Aish.com Shabbat site features:

- Audio of Shabbat blessings like Kiddush, plus popular
Jewish songs sung by recordings artists like Sam Glaser.

- Shabbat-for-kids section, featuring coloring pages on
Shabbat and biblical themes, plus a series of meaningful stories that tie
into the weekly Torah portion.

- Recipes of all the favorite Shabbat foods like challah,
soups, chicken, kugel, chollent and, of course, dessert!

- A one-minute online film, "Gimme a Break," which contrasts
hectic weekday life with the tranquility of Shabbat.

- A 35-part online self-study course of the "Laws of
Shabbat."

- A selection of 10 different essays on the weekly Torah
portion.

- Weekly candle lighting times for 300 cities worldwide.

The Aish.com site also offers a free service, 1-800-SHABBAT,
where people across North America can call the hotline to arrange Shabbat
hospitality at the home of a volunteer host.

"There's an old saying that 'more than the Jewish people have
kept the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept the Jews'," says Simmons. And we
created this website so that everyone can have the opportunity to learn about
their Jewish heritage -- at their own pace, and in the comfort of their own
home."

Aish.com is based in the Old City of Jerusalem, where its
live, 24-hour camera on the Western Wall has been visited over 17 million
times and was awarded "Site of the Day" by USA Today.

Aish.com is a project of Aish HaTorah, a non-profit,
apolitical, international network of Jewish educational centers, with over 30
branches on five continents.
