iCAD Releases ClearLook(TM) - CAD Image Characterization Package
NASHUA, N.H., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- iCAD, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICAD), which designs, develops and markets Computer Aided Detection (CAD) imaging technology and systems for the early detection of breast cancer and other medical applications, today announced the release of its ClearLook(TM) CAD Image Characterization Package. ClearLook is used together with iCAD's Radiologist Review Station, which presents breast images marked to show suspicious features on a display screen typically located where mammographic films are read.
ClearLook offers full-image high-resolution zoom capabilities to allow the radiologist to enlarge any area of the breast image presented. ClearLook provides the radiologist descriptive data related to masses and calcifications in the region of interest, helping the radiologist understand why a particular set of features was marked, or not marked, in a CAD study. The ClearLook package, available as an option for the company's Second Look 500(TM) Mammographic CAD systems, will also be available as an option on iCAD's recently announced, category-defining Second Look 300(TM) system for early detection of breast cancer.
"Because ClearLook provides enhanced viewing and hard data related to the pathology in question," said Scott Parr, iCAD's President & CEO, "it provides additional support to the physician in recognizing and addressing early indicators of breast cancer. This is a feature our customers have requested," continued Parr, "and we feel we have responded with a superior tool for use in interpretation of screening mammograms.
