QuikDrop Opens Its First eBay 'Drop Off' Store in Michigan

CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich., Dec. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- QuikDrop of Michigan announced today it will open the first QuikDrop(R) eBay(R) "drop off" store in Michigan on December 28, 2004. The store is located at 41851 Garfield, in a shopping center at the southwest corner of Garfield and Canal Roads.

QuikDrop eBay stores provide an easy way for anyone to list their items on eBay simply and conveniently. New or used items with a value of $50 or more may be dropped off at any QuikDrop location, where they'll be photographed and placed on eBay. Once sold, QuikDrop handles the payment and shipping details with the winning bidder. The customer receives a check in the mail for the sale amount, less a commission to QuikDrop.

QuikDrop of Michigan owners Mike Rogensus and Mike Stefani are also announcing the addition of Duane Rao as a partner. Rao is the former CEO of Metro 25 Tire and MetroCell, and has over 35 years of experience in the Michigan retail and franchise markets.

"We are excited to be part of this 30 billion dollar innovative market where over 500,000 people make their living," said Rao. "We plan to open between 16 to 24 QuikDrop stores in Michigan in the next year. This is an exciting addition to the eBay concept that makes online auctioning available to everyone."

QuikDrop pioneered the eBay drop-off store franchise business model, that Entrepreneur magazine called "the hottest franchise in America" and was the first company to obtain state approval to operate eBay drop-off franchises in the United States.

QuikDrop opened the very first eBay drop-off store franchise in August 2003. Since that time, 25 QuikDrop locations have opened in nine states. Franchise contracts are currently in place to open over 600 stores in the United States and 100 stores internationally. QuikDrop is the largest and fastest growing chain of stores specializing in selling products on eBay for third parties in the United States. QuikDrop is the only eBay drop-off store operating locations overseas.
