Hurricane Electric Hosts Java Seminar

Hurricane Electric Hosts Java Seminar

FREMONT, Calif., Dec. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Hurricane Electric, a leading Technical Service Provider, will host "Better Software, Faster," an informative Java seminar geared toward all Java software developers. The seminar, being held on February 5, 2005, is the fourth in a series hosted by Hurricane Electric, which is designed to promote continued education in the business and technology field.

Mike Clark, consultant, speaker, programmer and author of Pragmatic Project Automation (The Pragmatic Bookshelf, 2004), will lead the comprehensive seminar, designed for all Java software developers who have a working knowledge of Java and basic OO concepts. "Better Software, Faster" will focus on three topics that are important to all Java software developers: writing good code, test-driven development, and project automation. Writing good code will teach participants how to write clean code that works, detect code smells before they begin to rot, and reverse the effects of rotten code. Test-driven development will explore 12 practical ways to start writing JUnit tests, and keep writing them when under pressure, and project automation will give participants the recipes for automating software projects.

"The response to the seminars we have held over the past few months has been overwhelmingly positive. Our customers are learning new skills and techniques from seasoned experts within their fields. Mike Clark is no exception. We are excited to have him lead this seminar and anticipate that it will be equally as successful as our other seminars," said Mike Leber, Hurricane Electric president.

Seminar participants will receive a free month of colocation at Hurricane Electric's Fremont facility for their participation in the seminar. They will also receive a free copy of Mike Clark's new book, Pragmatic Project Automation.

"Better Software, Faster," will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2005, in Fremont, CA, between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided by Hurricane Electric. The cost of the seminar is $199. Space is limited, so register early. To register for "Better Software, Faster," complete the form located at http://www.he.net/seminar/java.html or call 510-580-4141.
