ACS Awarded $23 Million Pharmacy Benefits Management Contract With Massachusetts Medicaid Program

DALLAS, Dec. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., (NYSE:ACS), a premier provider of business process and information technology outsourcing solutions, announced today that it has been awarded a new 27-month contract with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services to continue providing pharmacy benefits management (PBM) services for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Medicaid Program. The contract is valued at $23 million and may be extended up to 24 additional months.

ACS has provided PBM services to the Massachusetts Medicaid program since 2001 and processes over 24 million pharmacy claims annually on behalf of almost one million eligible beneficiaries and over 1,300 participating pharmacies. Under the new contract, ACS will continue to provide on-line real time claims processing services, drug rebate services, transaction data warehouse services, and call center/help desk services.
