Fête de la Musique de Tremblant back for an 18th edition
September 2 to 5, 2016: an exciting program with over 30 free outdoor concerts
MONTRÉAL, Aug. 16, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - One of the first events in Canada to combine classical, jazz, and world music, the Fête de la Musique de Tremblant is in its 18th edition this year. Founder and artistic director Angèle Dubeau invites you to come discover renowned artists and rising stars in the majestic setting of Mont-Tremblant.
Attended by over 35,000 spectators each year, the event will include over 30 free outdoor concerts over the Labour Day weekend, from September 2 to 5. The festivities will be spread over Tremblant's pedestrian village at the base of the mountain and the Village and Centre-ville sectors of Mont-Tremblant.
The a cappella group QW4RTZ (back by popular demand) will kick off the festival with a bang at the Église de St-Jovite. The festivities will continue with outstanding artists such as Lyne Fortin, Ventus Operandi, Trio BBQ, Liu Fang, Paulo Ramos and Jessica Vigneault, Lorraine Klaasen, Natalie MacMaster, Donnell Leahy & Family, Fiestango, the baritone-guitar duo (Philippe C.-Leboeuf and Adam Cicchillitti), the trio of Valérie Milot, Antoine Bareil and Stéphane Tétreault, Jelena Milojevic, Susie Arioli, Lemon Bucket Orkestra, Giorgia Fumanti, and a special concert featuring the young artists of tomorrow emceed by Angèle Dubeau - a nod to the TV program she hosted for many years, Faites vos gammes.
On Sunday, September 4, the violinist will take the stage for the not-to-be-missed "Angèle Dubeau & Friends" along with her orchestra La Pietà, American folk/rock icon Shawn Phillips, and renowned Nova Scotia fiddlers Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy for an event that's sure to be full of surprises.
Like every year, the musical festivities will be scattered throughout the site, with concerts the whole family will love. And don't miss the festival's street performers, including Carisma Cubano and their sun-drenched rhythms, the zany trio sCHNOUTe, and the amazing Kattam et ses tam-tams, who will draw both the young and young-at-heart into the wonderful world of percussion.
