SAN FRANCISCO, July 28, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Vendini, the company that makes the business of live events simple with industry-leading software and services, announced that it has formed a Strategic Business Unit for Live Music that will be led by former General Manager of CrowdTorch, Mark Meyerson.

This Strategic Business Unit will be focused entirely on the live music and festival vertical within the world of live events, and will be composed of sales, specialized support and products developed specifically with live music venues and festivals in mind. The team will focus on bringing Vendini's all-in-one solution to live music venues and festivals across North America with solutions needed to sell more tickets, improve event promotion, gain deeper customer insight, manage patrons and more.
"As Vendini has grown, one thing has remained constant - there are still a massive amount of small to midsized venues that have gone completely underserved," said CEO and founder Mark Tacchi. "We want to step in to give these live music venues the solutions they need, from marketing, to CRM and reporting features, to mobile applications. With over 30 years of experience, we're excited to have Meyerson leading our team of industry experts and leading the charge on this initiative."
As the new Vice President and GM of Live Music, Mark Meyerson brings with him a serious history in the live music industry. He got his start with Bill Graham Presents right out of high school and worked with the legend himself. He moved to LA to help grow the House of Blues into a national brand. As an executive, he has innovated with industry heavyweights like TicketMaster, Musictoday and AEG Live. Mark's expansive experience and passion for the industry makes him the perfect person to lead Vendini's Strategic Business Unit for Live Music.
"We're incredibly excited to have formed this Strategic Business Unit, and we've already begun making moves in the live music industry," said Meyerson. "We have the solutions live music venues need and they're not getting anywhere else. We're giving them the ammunition and attention they need to operate with the same efficiency and effectiveness as a massive arena."
"Vendini is ready to grow and innovate aggressively. Forming the music business unit allows us to hyperfocus on live music while taking advantage of the overall support structure and product development teams we have built in the overall business," said Meyerson. "I get to manage a team of all stars who have risen to the top from the core business and our two acquisitions of Inticketing and CrowdTorch."
This initiative comes on the heels of Vendini's acquisition of LA-based CrowdTorch from Cvent in December of 2015. This acquisition helped position Vendini to grow its customer base, strategically incorporate key technologies and personnel within the Vendini solution and build patron relationships with CrowdTorch's patron-facing marketplaces for club, EDM and comedy events.
