"The Art Department Challenge is an opportunity for artists around the world to take their work to a different level," stated David Nakabayashi, Creative Director at ILM. "Our goal is to provide artists with a platform to showcase their talent and an opportunity to work with some of the best art directors in the industry."
"Wacom is delighted to be teaming up with ILM and ArtStation to celebrate the creative process and bring new talent to the surface with a bit of friendly competition," said Ed Neumann, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Wacom's Creative Business Unit. "Virtually every animation and game development studio, large or small, create their digital art and designs with an Intuos pen tablet or Cintiq creative pen display. It's a powerful testament to our ability to bring the very best in pressure-sensitive pen performance, creative control and productivity to the professional studio."
Wacom is offering some great prizes including a Cintiq 27QHD touch with Ergo Stand to the first place winner, a Cintiq Companion 2 for second, a Cintiq 22HD for third and Bamboo Sparks for the five honorable mention winners. Add these to all the wonderful items ILM and ArtStation are also offering and a successful contest is born.
The winners will be announced on September 12th and their work will be viewable on ArtStation. Dubbed, "the home for artists," ArtStation enables artists to showcase their work online, share their portfolios and connect with new opportunities.
