From Pastoral Southeastern Connecticut's "Strawberry Park" Comes 8 Days of Bluegrass and Cajun Zydeco Festivals in an Outdoors Hospitality Setting

PRESTON, Conn., May 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Woodstock marked the end of the 60s with three days of live rock and roll attracting 400,000 to Max Yasgur's 600-acre farm in the Catskills. Some of those from that generation have spent the next 40 some odd years along with their children and grandchildren reliving the outdoor concert experience at a 160-acre campground and RV Park in southern Connecticut--just a short ferry ride away.

Two four-day concerts--hosted by Elite Resorts' Strawberry Park in Preston-- are returning as popular summer events. The 39(th) Annual Bluegrass Festival is scheduled June 2(nd) to June 5(th). The 20(th) annual "Blast from the Bayou" featuring authentic Cajun Zydeco music is scheduled June 9(th) to June 12(th).

Fans, according to Elite Resorts' President Ed Mayer, typically stay three to four days, though ticket groupings for both concerts and/or specific days are available. Strawberry Park, located just 5 miles off I-395 and 15 miles from I-95, offers a wide variety of campsites, over 350 RV sites for rent and on-site log cabins.

"Another bonus for those living in eastern Long Island is the ferry from Orient Point to New London, which eliminates a long drive from the trip to Strawberry Park," Mayer added.

He said the campground and RV Park is also a short drive to historic Mystic Seaport, Foxwoods, Tanger Outlet Mall, Mohegan Sun and 20 miles to the beaches.
