OTTAWA, April 25, 2016 /CNW/ - Bell Media Radio announced today that 580 CFRA News Talk Radio Host and journalist Evan Solomon has been appointed to the newly created role of National Affairs Specialist, and will be heard daily on Bell Media Radio's news/talk stations throughout Canada. Effective immediately, this new appointment broadens Solomon's current role as Host and Executive Producer of OTTAWA NOW, airing daily from 2 - 6 p.m. ET on Ottawa's 580 CFRA News Talk Radio.
The first-ever National Affairs Specialist for Bell Media Radio, Solomon's expanded role includes daily morning news hits on Bell Media Radio news/talk stations in Toronto, Montréal, and Ottawa, and weekly news hits across additional Bell Media Radio news/talk stations in Victoria and Kelowna, B.C, as well as in Windsor, London, and St. Catharines in Ontario.
Additionally, Solomon will host a regular syndicated weekend program, REAL TALK. Airing across Bell Media news/talk stations in Ontario, Québec, and B.C., Solomon brings his passion for breaking news and storytelling to in-depth, hour-long interviews with national and international newsmakers and celebrities.

Born and raised in Toronto, Solomon is an accomplished writer, magazine publisher, and radio-television journalist, and a weekly contributor to Maclean's. He anchored CBC News Network's daily political series POWER & POLITICS and CBC Radio's weekly program THE HOUSE. Solomon has covered federal and provincial politics for more than 15 years, as well as some of Canada's biggest news stories of the time.
Before hosting Bell Media Radio's OTTAWA NOW, Solomon was most recently the host of SiriusXM's daily program EVERYTHING IS POLITICAL. Throughout his career, Solomon has interviewed many key political players, from prime ministers, world leaders, and U.S. presidents, to the Dalai Lama and Henry Kissinger, among others.
