Area veterans, military service members and their families are invited to this free event, also open to the public. It is presented in partnership with the Department of Defense Vietnam War Commemoration and Soldier's Wish.
A national nonprofit organization, HHV provides therapeutic arts and crafts to America's veterans and active duty military. HHV's expanded mission includes a concert series featuring popular performers to entertain and educate Americans about the contributions of U.S. veterans and the military.
"Our goal is to offer therapeutic assistance to our nation's veterans and military, improve emotional health and ease the transition to civilian life," said HHV's Chairman of the Board, John (Jack) M. Meagher, Judge (Retired). "At our concerts, we can educate the public about the tremendous sacrifices they made. We look forward to another big event in Dayton, honoring the brave men and women who risked their lives for our freedom."
The concert features a special performance by Chris Janson, one of country music's hottest up-and-coming artists. Janson wrote songs for Tim McGraw, Hank Williams, Jr., and others, and recently enjoyed his own platinum-certified No. 1 hit single, "Buy Me A Boat."
The event is free, but tickets are required, available at the Schuster Box Office or online at www.TicketCenterStage.com. Early entry/preferred access admission tickets are available to veterans or military service members with identification. They entitle ticketholders to preferred seating and a chance to meet Chris Janson. The general public may obtain "Early Entry/Preferred Access" tickets for a $10 donation per ticket.
The concert is part of the Department of Defense's50th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnam War. The mission of Soldier's Wish, another nonprofit, is to grant the wishes of military service members, veterans and their families.
