A Company Dedicated to Promoting Kindness Featured on Good Morning America
BOSTON, Jan. 14, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Choose To Be Nice, a company and social movement that promotes kindness and develops school kindness education programs, drew national attention this week with a feature on Good Morning America's Deals and Steals Segment. The company, based in Massachusetts, offered 50% off of Choose To Be Nice sweatshirts and t-shirts for the daily deal.
The company is focused on collecting promises from people to be nicer in their daily interactions. Organizers have a goal of collecting more than one million promises from around the world.
"We are excited about the opportunity to highlight our mission and to reach more people with our simple message," said Choose To Be Nice Founder Dina Creiger. "We want people to think about how they treat each other and to realize that they have an option. We are all better off when we give each other respect and look after one another."
Choose To Be Nice collects promises on its website, choosetobenice.com, and sells t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other merchandise to promote the message. Every purchase helps to support kindness programs in schools.
Creiger developed the concept for Choose To Be Nice out of concern for her son and other pre-teens facing growing social pressures and coping with the issue of bullying. She launched the organization in 2013 following the tragic Boston Marathon bombings.
"We live in this fast-paced, hectic world with so much pressure and too often we take it out on each other," she said. "I wanted to find a way to change people's perspectives and improve their interactions with one another."
The Choose To Be Nice School program focuses on teaching children to be nicer to each other and to become leaders in their communities. It is available for all grades and can be customized for individual schools.
Choose To Be Nice was selected to be on the Good Morning America segment by host Tory Johnson after a "pitch" presentation at the recent Massachusetts Conference for Women.
The Choose To Be Nice promise:
"I promise to help spread kindness wherever and whenever possible. And to the very best of my ability I'll be nice to those with whom I come into contact on a daily basis."
