MIKE REISS, SIMPSONS' WRITER FOR 25 YEARS, GIVES TALK IN SOUTH LONDON
This year's Crystal Palace International Film Festival has film-makers flying in from
all over the world. The most notable being 4 x Emmy winner Mike Reiss. He has written for
The Simpsons for 25 years and will be holding a Q & A after the screening of his film 'How
Murray Saved Christmas on Fri Nov 6th at Stanley Halls, SE25.
As an exclusive on this trip, he will also be giving his 75 minute entertaining
presentation at Stanley Halls on Sunday 8th entitled 'Secrets of the Simpsons', funny
stories and rare clips from his 25 years on one of the worlds most loved shows, you can

CPIFF are screening a film called 'Two Down' executive produced by Stephen Fry and Sir
Derek Jacobi, supported by Sir Ian Mckellen. Comedian Mark Steel will be presenting the
CPIFF Awards and the launch night screens 'SuperBob' starring Catherine Tate and Brett
Goldstein, hailed by Neill Roy, CPIFF chairman, at as the funniest UK film for years.

The programme for the 6th Crystal Palace International Film Festival (CPIFF) presented
by Martin and Co presents a diverse selection of films in typical CPIFF style. As one of
London's alternative film festivals, it introduces unconventional screening experiences
incorporating gourmet food from local restaurants and themed evenings in unusual venues
such as churches and listed halls. The festival introduces some of the finest independent
films and film-makers from all over the world offering compelling viewing and audience
interaction.
The festival will screen a total of 92 films, including 6 World premieres, 3 European
premieres and 8 UK premieres 4 London premieres from 9 categories spanning comedy,
horror/sci-fi, international, feature, documentary, short film, animation, music video and
student.
Taking place over 3 weeks, the festival's screenings are in Crystal Palace and South
Norwood in the spookily Gothic, St John the Evangelist Church and the beautiful Stanley
Halls.
LAUNCH AND GALA FINALE
The festival opens with a feature film Superbob filmed in Peckham, South London and a
feature animation by Simpsons writer Mike Reiss held at Stanley Halls. Q & As with both
film makers.
The festival culminates in a Gala Finale, comedy and awards evening sponsored by Bloom
Gin held at the magnificent St Johns. This amazing night includes comedy films, musical
act and festival awards ceremony presented by comedian Mark Steel. Tickets cost GBP20 and
include a welcome Bloom Gin and tonic sponsored by Bloom Gin and posh canapes. A selection
of wines and beers and bubbly will also be on sale. Dress to impress for this night.
SIMPSONS PRESENTATION
The festival has arranged for Simpsons writer of 25 years Mike Reiss to fly in from L.A.
and give his presentation 'Secrets of the Simpsons' to audiences on Sunday 8th October.
This exclusive presentation has insider secrets and rare clips. GBP9 at Stanley Halls.
FAMILY FUN
The festival includes a Family Matinee for the second year running showing Walt
Disney's 'Meet the Robinsons', held at St John the Evangelist, Crystal Palace.
