What American Catholics are REALLY Saying About Papal Visit, Marriage, Divorce, Annulments, Gender Identity and Pornography
National Catholic Talk Show Hosts Offer Keen Insights from Listeners
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- (Ave Maria Radio) As nationally-syndicated Catholic radio talk show hosts who have interviewed hundreds of Church experts and taken calls from thousands of listeners, Al Kresta and Teresa Tomeo have their finger on the pulse of Catholicism in America. Kresta and Tomeo, both authors and national speakers in addition to each hosting their daily radio shows for more than 20 years, are available to comment on issues important to the average Catholic family in the pew that will come to light with Pope Francis' visit at the World Meeting of Families next week.
"I've heard from so many listeners who are looking for encouragement and clear direction from the Pope and the upcoming Synod about how to live the truths of the Catholic faith in a world often hostile to Church teaching on family issues like marriage, divorce, gender issues, pornography and contraception," says Tomeo, who served as a 2014 Vatican Conference Delegate and Speaker for the Pontifical Council for the Family. Host of the popular television series, The Catholic View for Women, Tomeo says, "Today's American Catholic family is made up of diverse households. Many Catholics are hoping for encouragement from the Pontiff during his visit, as they work hard to raise their children in often challenging situations."
According to Kresta, who was recruited in 1997 by Domino's Pizza founder, Tom Monaghan to launch Ave Maria Communications and who is currently the president of Ave Maria Radio, "As the culture's notion of what a family is has been changing, there's been much controversy about what the Catholic Church says about all these family-related issues. The World Meeting of Families is one strong example of how the Church is addressing these issues and taking seriously its mission regarding instructing the faithful on God's design for human life. Catholics are hoping for more clarity from Pope Francis on these issues during his upcoming visit to the U.S."
Kresta and Tomeo both host nationally-syndicated live call-in talk radio shows daily co-produced by the world's largest religious media outlet, the Eternal World Television Network (EWTN), which broadcasts on more than 320 affiliates around the U.S. Kresta and Tomeo have a combined 50 plus years of experience working in both the secular and Catholic media and communicate daily with tens of thousands of everyday Catholics through social media and their blogs/media outreach.
