About the Alpine Club of Canada, Toronto Section

The Toronto Section is one of 18 regional sections that make up the Alpine Club of Canada, Canada's national climbing and mountaineering organization. Members climb rock cliffs, frozen waterfalls and mountains, ski backcountry, cross-country and downhill, hike and generally enjoy the more vertical aspects of nature. The Toronto Section operates a number of courses and activities to promote leadership development, and works to maintain good relationships with land owners and preserve climbing rights through Southern Ontario.

The Alpine Club of Canada has been a focal point for Canadian mountaineers since 1906. The club's affiliation with the Union Internationale des Associations d'Alpinisme (UIAA) allows members to connect with international climbing organizations and share information about world-wide climbing issues.
