Media accreditation information for the French-language 2015 Leaders' Debate
OTTAWA, Sept. 14, 2015 /CNW/ - Canada's largest broadcasters - Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, CBC News, CTV News and Global News, in partnership with La Presse - announce details about media accreditation required for the 2015 French-language Leaders' Debate.
Media wishing to cover the 2015 French-Language Leaders' Debate in Montréal must be accredited through the Parliamentary Press Gallery. Space is limited, and only accredited media will be admitted to the media room.
Accreditation*
Beginning September 14, 2015, media can apply for accreditation by contacting Terry Guillon by email at: terry.guillon@parl.gc.ca
Media representatives who are not members of the Parliamentary Press Gallery may also apply for accreditation, but must complete and return the form below confirming their assignment.
The deadline to apply for accreditation is 5 p.m. (ET) on September 21, 2015.
Media passes can be picked up on-site beginning at 5 p.m. (ET) on September 24, at La Maison de Radio-Canada (1400, René-Lévesque Blvd East).
*All media, including media on campaign trails, must apply for debate accreditation.
Media Room: Salle Jean-Despréz (near the main entrance)
-- The room will be available to media from 5 p.m. to midnight on September
24.
-- Space is limited, but tables and chairs will be provided.
-- The debate will be projected on a large screen.
-- Audio feed will also be available for radio.
-- Translation will be available.
-- WIFI access will be available in the room to send news copy and photos.
There will not be a high-speed connection for video transfers in the
room.
-- Water and coffee will be provided in the room. The CBC/Radio-Canada
cafeteria will be open until 8 p.m.
-- Site set-up for media availability following the debate.
Photography
Due to limited space, only the designated La Presse, Canadian Press and Reuters photographers will be allowed on set for a photo opportunity prior to the debate on September 24, 2015.
Broadcasting or streaming the debate
Media outlets wishing to broadcast or stream the debates must obtain the rights from the broadcast partners. Please contact Anne Myre by email at anne.myre@radio-canada.ca
The broadcast of debate clips is subject to the broadcasters' protocol. The embargo on use of the clips by media that are not a part of the Broadcast partnership will be in force until the end of each night's debate.
Parking
-- Paid parking is available in CBC/Radio-Canada's east parking lot, off
Papineau Street (cost: $11.50).
-- Free parking is available for satellite trucks in CBC/Radio-Canada's
west parking lot, off Wolfe Street.
