DOVER, N.J., Sept. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc., a leading electronic musical instrument manufacturer, is continuing to amp up its widely popular Celviano digital piano line with the introduction of a new model - the AP-700. "We are excited to debut the latest digital piano in the Celviano line that provides beginners and professionals alike with a redefined grand piano experience," said Stephen Schmidt, Vice President of Casio's Electronic Musical Instrument Division. "With high-caliber technological features and exceptional sound quality, the AP-700 is ideal for any musical rehearsal or performance."

Casio has joined in collaboration with C. Bechstein, renowned piano maker, to develop the "Berlin Grand" tone, a balanced, elegant sound with a clearly defined shape. To create its exquisite clarity of tone and vibrancy, Casio analyzed the tone color of the ultimate C. Bechstein masterpiece, the D282. The resulting sound, which meets the approval of even C. Bechstein master piano maker Werner Albrecht, has been incorporated into the CELVIANO AP-700 as "Berlin Grand."

In addition to the "Berlin Grand," the AP-700 also features piano sounds from a Hamburg grand and Vienna grand. The AP-700's world-class piano sounds can be experienced through Casio's Tri-Sensor 88-note scaled hammer action keyboard with simulated ebony and ivory keys. This combination of piano tones along with Casio's scaled hammer action, provides players the experience of owning three of the finest pianos on earth.

Designed with an enhanced Concert Play feature, musicians can play along to 10 different classical pieces. For each of these 10 pieces, recordings of a symphony orchestra are included and users can select to hear them with or without the piano accompaniment. There is also a lesson feature which allows musicians to practice a piece at a slower tempo until they are ready to play it at normal tempo with the orchestra. The 10 pieces are appropriate for a variety of skill sets from beginner to advanced.

Furthermore, the AP-700 features a LCD display and a Grand Acoustic Sound System that faithfully represents the sound of a grand piano as it emanates from above and below the soundboard. The multi-channel amplification system creates an immersive sound field like that of a 9-foot concert grand for both the player and audience.

The Casio Celviano AP-700 also offers the following:

-- 256-note polyphony
-- 26 new tones (including 3 new Grand Piano tones)
-- 10 user songs
-- Duet mode
-- Split and layer capability
-- USB and standard MIDI ports
Casio's Celviano AP-700 is available at select piano dealers nationwide for a MSRP of $2,999. To learn more about Casio's Celviano line of digital pianos, please visit www.CasioMusicGear.com.
