WBNS Hires New 5:30 News Anchor
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- WBNS General Manager John Cardenas has announced the appointment of Scott Light as WBNS-10TV's new 5:30pm and political anchor. Scott will co-anchor the Monday through Friday 5:30pm News alongside Tracy Townsend. In addition to his anchoring duties, Scott will be in charge of the station's political coverage.
"Scott is a seasoned journalist and his special expertise on politics makes him a tremendous asset to our team. I'm confident his skill set both on the anchor desk, and in the field will help set us apart and will reaffirm the high journalistic standards WBNS is known for," Cardenas said.

Scott Light joins 10TV from the CBS Affiliate, WGCL in Atlanta, where he was the station's primary evening news anchor. Light helped build the station's Political team, and served as the main anchor for special election coverage. Light has also anchored in Phoenix, Raleigh and Salt Lake City. Light is a 6-time Emmy award winner, for his work anchoring, for breaking news and for his reporting.

Scott graduated from Radford University, where he earned his bachelor of science in Radio and Television. Scott has also served as Adjunct Professor, at Virginia Commonwealth University, in the Department of Mass Communications.
Scott's first day will be August 31st.
