Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Highlights Bespoke Colour and Inspired Wraith at Pebble Beach

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif., Aug. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- In 2014, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled a stunning 2015 Phantom Drophead Coupe featuring a striking Mandarin interior on the Concept Law at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance. The car was bought by a collector and immediately whisked away to his collection. The car was a creation of the Rolls-Royce Bespoke Design Team in North America to highlight the trend in collectors seeking unique and exciting colour combinations. During this year's festivities surrounding the 2015 Monterey Motorsports Week and Concours d'Elegance, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars will highlight its Bespoke offerings with a colourful selection of its line-up including the global introduction of the final piece of the Wraith 'Inspired' Specification Series, Rolls-Royce Wraith 'Inspired by Music.'

This year, the world's most exclusive luxury brand is featuring a stunning line-up at 'The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering,' showcasing a taste of the 44,000+ colors offered on any Rolls-Royce motor car to give guests a glimpse into the Bespoke color, material and design capabilities on the exterior and interior of the finest motor cars in the world. In addition to a beautiful Wraith in St. James Red and Ghost in Salamanca Blue, the brand is delivering a custom Bespoke Rolls-Royce Phantom to renowned auto collector Mr. Michael Fux.

Mr. Fux's Phantom is presented in his namesake Bespoke colour, 'Fux Intense Jade Pearl.' The interior is appointed in the highest quality leather in a vibrant color theme matching green throughout the front and rear compartments. More than a year of Bespoke colour design has gone into this 'One-of-One' work of art that complements Mr. Fux's Bespoke Wraith commissioned in 2014, and his collection of seven stunning Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

2015 festivities also include the first ever public gathering of all three Wraith 'Inspired Specification' cars; Film, Fashion - and in its debut - Music. The three exquisite specifications were designed to highlight the Bespoke potential of the brand, and feature inspirational options for Rolls-Royce motor car owners including colors and never before seen design methods.

Wraith 'Inspired by Film'
Wraith 'Inspired by Film' celebrates Rolls-Royce's long heritage in film and its entry into the BFI National Archive hinting gently at the (film) noir with a number of unique Bespoke touches. The art of the silver screen is reflected through the classic two-tone Silver and Jubilee Silver paint scheme, a solid-silver hand-cast Spirit of Ecstasy and an Anthracite leather interior accented with Casden Tan.

Wraith 'Inspired by Film' made its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show and arrives on the Monterey Peninsula after a recent tour through New York and Los Angeles.

Wraith 'Inspired by Fashion'
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and the world of Haute Couture have long been bound by a common philosophy - to take the very finest materials and craft them into the most exquisite and desirable luxury goods, appointed to the customer's exact specifications. In this spirit, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars unveiled the Wraith 'Inspired by Fashion' in May at a premier fashion and design conference hosted by the Pratt Institute.

Wraith 'Inspired by Fashion' two-tone exterior scheme of Andalusian White and Arctic White offers a neutral setting for a choice of accent colors, namely Jasmine, Tailored Purple or Mugello Red. Upon opening Wraith's coach-doors, you will find the car's classic Arctic White and Black interior color scheme. Beyond the traditional placement of embroidered headrests, seat stitching and piping, the accent color has found an elegant new application via a striking two-tone steering wheel, the lining of the front and rear door pockets with fine silks adorned with an abstract representation of the Spirit of Ecstasy and colorful welting on the door panel. Finished with a lacquered wood dashboard, taking nine days to painstakingly complete, ties the complete motor car together creating a stylish Bespoke statement.

Wraith 'Inspired by Music'
Making its North American debut at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Wraith 'Inspired by Music' is the final piece of the Inspired Specification series. The color and trim pay homage to the music industry, celebrating a long and well documented relationship between icons of the music industry and the marque.

A Lyrical Copper exterior paint finish, presented with a blend of brushed and polished textures elegantly hints at the use of copper in only the very best audio systems. On opening the car's coach-doors attention is drawn to re-imagined speaker grilles, here presented in copper theme, and engraved with the words 'Bespoke Audio'. The door panniers and floor mats have been crafted from finely-woven leather to add an additional depth of tactility to the car's interior cabin. Copper-coloured door inserts, which start at the front of the cabin before tapering at the rear, have been included in the design to emphasise Wraith's characteristic internal curves.

A book matched copper finish features for the first time on Wraith's fascia, boldly extending the car's theme. The same copper tone extends to Wraith's signature seat bullets.

Rolls-Royce Bespoke Audio
Since the launch of Wraith in 2013, customers have been able to commission their Rolls-Royce Wraith with Bespoke Audio, the most exhaustively designed sound system in automotive history. Like every element of a Rolls-Royce motor car, its construction blends the finest components with the skill of the most eminent experts in their fields. Now, with Wraith 'Inspired by Music', these characteristics, and the precious materials used in the Bespoke Audio system, are brought very much to the fore, creating 'the most exclusive music venue' that delivers an unrivalled aural experience.

The Bespoke Audio system was created from scratch by a team of the world's very best automotive audio engineers. The two-year development process saw the team work closely with Rolls-Royce interior designers to ensure the system was perfectly tuned to the interior of the cabin. Indeed, this pursuit of aural perfection was deemed so important the interior designers had to consult with the Chief Audio Engineer before making any changes.

The extraordinary clarity of sound and dynamic range is delivered via a 1300W, 18 channel system comprising two highly powerful bass speakers, seven tweeters and seven mid range speakers. Two 'exciter' speakers hand-fitted in the car's headlining play a vital role in bringing the sound to the listener at ear-level; ensuring the output perfectly imitates the way music is experienced in a live setting. Microphones constantly monitor ambient and exterior noises and will adjust volume and tone settings automatically to ensure no external agent detracts from the user's listening pleasure.

Each unique Wraith Inspired Specification model is available for Bespoke commissioning at any of Rolls-Royce's forty-one North American retail dealerships. Rolls-Royce Wraith has been instrumental in propelling Rolls-Royce Motor Cars to its fifth consecutive year of record sales in 2014, topping 4,000 units for the first time.
