Elisabeth Patte To Join Illumination Entertainment As A Director Of Animated Custom Creative Content
LOS ANGELES, Aug. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Illumination Entertainment announced today that Elisabeth Patte will join the company to direct and produce animated custom creative content for promotional partnerships and campaigns tied to Illumination films. Illumination is one of the entertainment industry's leading producers of all-audience event films, including the beloved Despicable Me global film franchise, as well as the prequel Minions, which to date has grossed over $950 million globally at the box office.
Patte played a critical role in the production of Minions, where she served as the director of background characters, helping develop the personalities, movements and attitudes of the sweet yet subversive Minions. In her new capacity, Patte will utilize her animation skills to develop creative custom content for the marketing of Illumination's films, including next year's The Secret Life of Pets (July 8, 2016), a comedy about the lives our pets lead after we leave for work or school each day starring Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart.
Patte has helped create memorable movie moments that established the essence of the Minions characters including the Xeroxing butts and Gru's Minion gathering line "Minions assemble!" from Despicable Me in addition to the ice cream chorus and yeti musical scenes from Minions. She has served as the director of background characters for Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2, The Lorax, and Minions.
Prior to her work with Illumination, Patte served as lead animator on the medium-length movie Le Secret de et Mortimer directed by Pierre Coffin, then Dragons Hunters in 2006 with director Guillaume Ivernel and Arthur Qwauk. In 2009 she re-teamed with Coffin as animation director on the 3D series "Pat and Stan." She earned her Master's degree in Image Engineering and Digital Filmmaking at SupInfoCom in Valenciennes, France.
