Acclaimed Producer/Director Don Mischer to Keynote LiveTV: LA, November 17 in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Acclaimed producer/director Don Mischer has been named a keynote speaker at The Second Annual LIVETV:LA Conference, which will return on November 17 to the Los Angeles Hilton/Universal City. Winner of 15 Emmy Awards and a record 10 Directors Guild of America Awards for Outstanding Directorial Achievement, Mischer will address the crowd of live-television industry professionals about his experiences in the world of "High-Risk, Live Television."

Mischer will address what makes live television work, how social media has changed the live television experience, how to plan for things that may go wrong at any given moment, and using the element of surprise and the unexpected to drive up ratings. Mischer will provide an honest and behind the scenes look at how to overcome seemingly insurmountable obstacles, while persevering through the stress experienced by those of us who find themselves counting down the seconds to a live worldwide broadcast of millions.

As President of Don Mischer Productions, Mischer's credits range from We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial, The Kennedy Center Honors, and the 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall; to Super Bowl Halftime shows (Prince, The Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen, among others), the Democratic National Convention, and the Opening Ceremonies of both the Winter and Summer Olympic Games.

Mischer will share what he feels are "The 10 Most Important Tips for Directing and Producing Live Television;" and "The Most Critical Elements for Awards Show Success." In addition, he will address the "Fundamentals of Live Television Team Building," and call to the LIVETV:LA stage, members of his own team, Producers Charlie Haykel and Juliane Hare.

Once again presented by Sports Video Group (SVG), Variety 411 and TVNewscheck, this day-long conference program is designed to address the latest creative, technology and business trends in television's fastest growing category: live production. Last year, over 300 producers and their technical staffs joined together for the first time to explore live TV production for entertainment, sports, reality, news and social media. The sessions and industry networking were supported by over 36 exhibitors and sponsors.

The preliminary 2015 conference schedule includes:

-- So you Think You Can Produce a Primetime Talent Show?
-- Winning Ways in Awards Show Production
-- Social Media and the Live Viewer Connection
-- Reality Check: Getting Innovative for Reality TV
-- Sports Techniques for Entertainment Production
-- PLUS Technology Master Classes on: Lighting, Sound, Graphics, Aerials,
Virtual Reality and 4K
