About us [http://www.l-ro.org/index.php/contact-us ]: As independent professionals,
Lighting Designers enhance the perception and the livability of both indoor and outdoor
environments. At the same time, they minimize energy usage, reduce unwanted light trespass
and bring light where and when it is needed.
People take for granted that outdoor lighting is there to help keep cities moving
after the sun goes down, that light can influence health and performance at work, as well
as children's wellbeing and their ability to learn. But who safeguards the consumers and
guarantees results, timings and costs? Shouldn't society demand good quality lighting?
Lighting design is a unique profession which allows its practitioners to apply both
natural and artificial lighting, while designing for comfort and productivity, atmosphere
and feelings. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, Lighting Designers take
responsibility for the impact of light on humans, the economy and the environment.
About L-RO [http://www.l-ro.org/index.php/contact-us ]: Lighting-Related Organizations
is a voluntary federation of 48 associations, educational institutions and media
organizations, active on an international scale. As a Partner, L-RO supports IYL 2015 and
UNESCO with the Official Activities Program [http://www.l-ro.org/index.php/program ].
