International Recording Artist Tonya Ware's New Book Inspires People to Triumph Over Tough Circumstances
MADISON, Miss., Feb. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Growing up poor, Tonya Ware was no stranger to hard work and the success it could bring. In December of 2006 she was on the cusp of having all her dreams come true. Her debut album, Tonya Ware, The Voice, had just been recorded. It contained the single "Put My Hand in Yours," written by legendary singer and musician Marvin Winans. In addition to performing, she continued her day job as a benefits and retirement planner for a Fortune 500 company, where she was a million-dollar producer.
Sixteen- to 18-hour days were the norm for the 37-year-old until the December day when her heart stopped beating while she was at home. As fortunate as she was to be brought back to life, Ware spent the next six years as a virtual shut-in. She battled depression, disability and a dispiriting lack of purpose on her way to finding a new, redirected life of helping other people triumph over their own tough circumstances.
In Life Is Your Song: Discover Your Voice, her new book, Ware shares her journey. She now assists other people who must close the door to their pasts, reboot their lives and start fresh to create the life they desire just as she did. She credits something artist LL Cool J said in an interview with Oprah with giving her the kick-start she needed. "My husband, who always tried to keep me inspired, mentioned that LL Cool J was going to be interviewed by Oprah that day," Ware recalls. "And on that program, LL Cool J made the statement, 'Dreams Don't Have Deadlines.' Something clicked inside me and switched on when he said that. That was all I needed to hear."
