RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif., Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa debuts "Grooves at the Westin," featuring world-class musicians. With over 25 chart topping records and several Grammy nominations, David Benoit and special guest Phil Perry open the series February 14.
Benoit has thrilled audiences with his unique piano style and beautiful compositions, having performed with Kenny G, Dave Koz, Faith Hill, David Sanborn, Brian McKnight and others; and at The White House for Bill Clinton, Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush. R&B/jazz musician Phil Perry has 10 solo albums, the latest released in 2013, and he has been one of the most sought after backing vocalists in the music business having played with Anita Baker, Boz Scaggs, Rod Stewart, Peabo Bryson and George Duke.
On March 21 the "Smooth Jazz All-stars" features Gregg Karukas, Jessy J, Brian Simpson and Michael Paulo.
Acclaimed keyboardist and composer Gregg Karukas is a Grammy Award winner, while celebrated keyboardist, composer and studio musician, Brian Simpson has been the 'go-to' man for everyone from Janet Jackson and Teena Marie to George Duke, Stanley Clarke and Dave Koz. Nouveau sax-woman Jessy J burst onto the contemporary jazz scene in 2008 with her award-winning debut album "Tequila Moon." Hiroshima concludes the series on Saturday, March 28. Hiroshima combines their unique blend of Japanese instruments with the smooth rhythm of Western R&B, making them the number one Asian-American band in the world.
