Houston Technology Center Will Honor Mr. Tony Chase - Consummate Serial Entrepreneur at "A Celebration of Entrepreneurs" gala

HOUSTON, Jan. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Houston Technology Center announced today it will honor Mr. Tony Chase, Chairman & CEO of ChaseSource, LP, at the 2015 "A Celebration of Entrepreneurs" event. Held annually, the event honors local entrepreneurs and celebrates those who have made significant contributions to the Houston community. The event will be held on May 14, 2015 at the Hyatt Regency Houston.

A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Chase has started and sold three successful ventures and now owns and operates a fourth company, ChaseSource. The first company, Chase Radio Partners, owned seven radio stations and was sold to Clear Channel Communications in 1998. The second was Cricket Wireless, a nationwide cell phone service provider that he started together with Qualcomm in 1993. The third was ChaseCom, a company that built and operated call centers around the world, sold to AT&T Corporation in 2007. Currently, ChaseSource, a staffing and real estate development firm is ranked by Black Enterprise magazine in 2013 and 2014 as one of the nation's largest minority owned companies. ChaseSource also recently became an owner of the Marriott Hotel at George Bush InterContinental Airport in Houston.

Mr. Chase currently serves on the Boards of Anadarko (NYSE), Sarepta Therapeutics (NASDAQ), Paragon Offshore (NYSE), The Plaza Group, Greater Houston Partnership, Texas Medical Center, Houston Endowment, University of Texas School of Architecture Dean's Advisory Council, St. John's School Board of Trustees, Houston Zoo Development, Foreign Affairs Museum Council, Nau Center for Texas Cultural Heritage and KIPP Schools. He has also served as Deputy Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, as well as, 2012 Chairman of the Greater Houston Partnership. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is an Eagle Scout.

A tenured Professor of Law at the University of Houston Law Center, Mr. Chase began teaching in 1990, and was awarded tenure in 1995. He is also an honors graduate of Harvard College, where he received a law degree from Harvard Law School and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Chase is the recipient of many awards including the 2013 Mickey Leland Humanitarian Award (NAACP) and the 2013 Bob Onstead Leadership Award (GHP). He also received Entrepreneur of the Year (Ernst & Young), the Pinnacle Award (Bank of America) and the Baker Faculty Award (UH Law Center).
