Quirky Crafter Creates Cult-Like Following
SPRINGFIELD, Mo., Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Longtime Branson, Missouri performer Jeremy Rabe, the charismatic co-host and entertainer in the '70's Music Celebration Show' in Branson has stepped away from the theatre to pursue a career in TV and share his passion of arts, crafts and home décor. As the newly branded FYI Guy, Rabe has launched a weekly show called "FYI GUY LIVE," where he entertains live audiences with craft demonstrations, while sharing the latest tips and trends in a humorous style that has created a cult-like following. "I always dreamed about having my own TV show and to be able to share my real passion with the world is a dream come true," says Rabe.
"I'm not into crafting at all," says the show's Executive Producer Scott Opfer, "but when you put Jeremy in front of a live audience, he is so funny and entertaining, you just have to watch. He's a real channel stopper and an amazing talent. We post our production dates on Facebook and in less than an hour, we are turning people away. They are absolutely crazy about this guy," adds Opfer. Audiences agree. Fans line up to see his next craft creation and the wild wardrobe and bow ties he hand-picks from local thrift stores.
The FYI GUY LIVE show airs on the Ozarks CW in Springfield with national distribution on the horizon in the near future. "The FYI Guy has been a great addition to our station," says Mary Chalender, General Sales Manager of NBC Affiliate KY3 in Springfield. "Jeremy's energy is contagious while his crafts are inspiring to all age groups. The response from our viewers has truly exceeded our expectations!" adds Chalender.
Rabe also has a syndicated FYI GUY feature series where he works his quirky craft magic into short feature segments that are distributed at no charge to local television affiliates, newspapers and magazines. Segments can be viewed at www.FYIGUY.com or on Facebook using key words FYI GUY. "Jeremy Rabe's projects are fast, super easy and fun and won't break the bank", says Laurel Marselle, Producer at CBS affiliate KCTV in Kansas City. "Jeremy's love for what he does is infectious. You'll want to break out the scissors and hot glue gun and craft right along with him!"
You'll also see Rabe on the upcoming reality show "A Very Barry Branson" starring American TV icon Barry Williams (best known for his role as Greg Brady on the legendary TV series "The Brady Bunch.") Williams, whose reality show will debut on the Great American Country network next month, recently made a special guest appearance on Rabe's FYI GUY LIVE show. "I wouldn't have missed the opportunity for the world," says Williams. "Jeremy is a great person and tremendously talented. He's an arts and crafts rock star."
