Auto Data Direct Partners With Under the Hood Radio Show for Consumer Awareness

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Auto Data Direct, Inc., (ADD) today announced a new partnership with Under the Hood car radio show aimed at educating consumers on the value of researching a used vehicle's history prior to purchase. ADD is a leading provider of federal vehicle histories from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS), through its titlecheck.us website.

"Our goal in working with Under the Hood is to help consumers understand how important it is to check a vehicle's history to identify any issues the car may have that can affect its safety and value," said Sarah Kathryn Wright, ADD's Marketing Director and Business Manager for its NMVTIS consumer program. "We've recently launched a new website - titlecheck.us - specifically for consumers as a quick, easy, and affordable first step in the car buying process. We want to help used car shoppers make sure a vehicle they are considering doesn't have any hidden secrets."

According to Wright, ADD chose to work with Under the Hood because its programming focuses on providing consumers with helpful tips on automotive repairs and information that assists them in making smarter choices about their vehicles. "It was a perfect fit for us as we strive to educate the general consumer on why a simple, low-cost NMVTIS vehicle history report can save them money and headaches down the road."

ADD's partnership with Under the Hood begins in January 2015, and will include live interactive on-air sessions during which actual history reports will be pulled from the national database and a review of the information will be discussed. "It's important for consumers to understand what a 'brand' on a vehicle means and how it may affect the quality of their car and their ability to get a clean title on it," said Wright. "The partnership with Under the Hood will be educational in nature and we look forward to hearing from callers about their experience with used car shopping, and how a vehicle history report may have affected their decision on a purchase."

Consumers can access a vehicle history report by visiting titlecheck.us, entering the vehicle identification number (VIN), and paying a nominal fee of $4.95. Reports include information from a vehicle's current title, including the vehicle's brand history, title history, and any reported odometer readings. NMVTIS vehicle reports also include whether the vehicle has been reported as "salvage" or a total loss by an insurance company or a self-insuring organization, and lists reports from auto recyclers who may have handled the vehicle. No account or subscription is required to purchase NMVTIS vehicle history reports through titlecheck.us.

The Under the Hood radio show is recorded live each week in the KELO 1320 am and 107.9 fm studios in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and can be found on over 100 local stations across the United States. Weekly podcasts are available for download at underthehoodshow.com.
