MyMusicRx Presents Bedstock, The World's First 'In-Bed' Music Festival

Mark Foster, Madison Beer and Chromeo Among Artists Honoring Kids Who Will Spend Holidays in Hospital Beds

PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tuesday, December 2, artists including Mark Foster, Madison Beer, and Chromeo join a stellar, cross-genre lineup of bands performing from their beds as a show of solidarity with the thousands of sick kids across the US who will spend the holidays in their hospital beds. Bedstock videos will be released at 8:00 am PST at www.bedstockfest.com and throughout the day via artist social media platforms. Bedstock's goal is to raise funds and awareness for MyMusicRx, the flagship program of Children's Cancer Association (CCA).

Other featured artists include: The Bots, JoJo, Sara Watkins, Raury, Langhorne Slim, Shakey Graves, Romeo Testa, Elliot Moss, Bea Miller, Kflay, Beth Behrs & Michael Gladis, This is the Kit, The Revivalists, HolyChild, Relations, and Young Cairo, and MyMusicRx children and teens.

"We spend fully one third of our lives in bed. If you happen to be a child with cancer, you spend a lot more," explains Regina Ellis, Founder and CEO of Children's Cancer Association. "Bedstock is a playful way for artists and their fans to join us in making a difference in the life of a very sick child without even getting out of bed."

Bedstock coincides with Giving Tuesday, a global day of giving back. Artists will invite their fans to share their videos and support MyMusicRx, a free-of-charge program that delivers the healing power of music to kids and teens facing cancer and other serious illnesses in the hospital environment and 24/7 at www.mymusicrx.org.

MyMusicRx partners include Anomaly, Converse, THE FADER, Cornerstone Promotions, SOL REPUBLIC, Atlantic Records, Stumptown Coffee Roasters, and Ace Hotel.

About MyMusicRx

Children's Cancer Association (CCA) believes joy matters and music heals. Nearly two decades ago, we pioneered a one-of-a-kind pediatric "music medicine" program called MyMusicRx that lets kids choose the music experience that feels right to them. The in-hospital MyMusicRx program includes bedside sing-a-longs led by trained music specialists, instrument lending from mobile music carts, tablet checkouts and live concerts from national recording artists. MyMusicRx.org invites kids facing serious illnesses to feel the music and feel better through a one-of-a-kind digital music experience. See MyMusicRx in action here or visit www.mymusicrx.org.
