WASHINGTON, Dec. 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The "Angelina Jolie of animal stars" is coming to Palm Beach in January, and she wants to give you a kiss. Crystal the capuchin - star of 22 feature films including the "Night at the Museum" series, "We Bought a Zoo," and "The Hangover Part 2" - is one of two famous Hollywood animal actors who will make an appearance at a special afternoon tea presented by Lois Pope benefitting American Humane Association at the Chesterfield Hotel's Leopard Lounge on January 22. Joining Crystal will be Hudson, the beloved Golden Retriever star of the 2011 Paul Rudd comedy "Our Idiot Brother" and frequent guest on "Saturday Night Live."

Both of these precious animal actors are featured in the new book "Animal Stars: Behind the Scenes with Your Favorite Animal Actors," written by American Humane Association president and CEO Dr. Robin Ganzert and Allen and Linda Anderson, the husband-and-wife founders of the Angel Animals Network. Featuring a foreword by "America's Veterinarian" Dr. Marty Becker, "Animal Stars"offers a peek at the fascinating world of animals and animal trainers in today's film and television industry - and the celebrities with whom they work. Proceeds from the sale of the book support American Humane Association's lifesaving work and programs protecting America's children and animals. All guests at the afternoon tea will receive an autographed copy of "Animal Stars" and the opportunity to pose for a picture (and a kiss) with Crystal and Hudson.
This book features unprecedented access to the Hollywood stars from the animal kingdom that only an organization with nearly 140 years' experience of protecting the nation's children and animals like American Humane Association could provide. In 2015 the organization's "No Animals Were Harmed®" program will ring in 75 years of protecting literally millions of animal actors on thousands of movie and television sets around the world. The "No Animals Were Harmed®" program, the only industry-sanctioned program with oversight of animals in filmed production, has made the protection of animal actors its duty and charter.
"This special tea is a wonderful opportunity for fans of animal actors to come out and meet some of the brightest stars in the animal kingdom," said Dr. Ganzert. "Crystal and Hudson are such superstars and are sure to light up the room and delight everyone in attendance. I know everyone who meets them 'in person' will enjoy reading more about them, as well as other dedicated animal actors and the trainers who protect them. My deepest thanks and gratitude goes out to Mrs. Lois Pope for her gracious sponsorship of this event."
"As an avid movie lover, I know how much animal stars can delight and charm audiences, and it's my pleasure to bring Crystal, Hudson and their hardworking trainers to Palm Beach for such a special event," said Mrs. Pope. "This afternoon tea will be the perfect way to kick off the 75th anniversary year for American Humane Association's 'No Animals Were Harmed®' program."
