Grandiosity Films Options The Road to Hell

Grandiosity Films has optioned Paul Liberatore's The Road to Hell: The True Story of George Jackson, Stephen Bingham and the San Quentin Massacre.

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Douglas Lowell 's Grandiosity Films has optioned Paul Liberatore's The Road to Hell: The True Story of George Jackson, Stephen Bingham and the San Quentin Massacre.

George Jackson was a darling of the New Left whose revolutionary fervor and cogent writing let to the publication of Soledad Brother which was celebrated by the New York Times as "One of the most significant and important documents since the first black was pushed off the ship at Jamestown."

Feared by prison officials and lionized by the New Left, Jackson became the revolutionary leader of the embryonic movement for prison reform that ignited the San Quentin massacre. "Tragically, almost fifty years later," Lowell says, "we still confront the same issues today."
