"The fact that Tim, an agency veteran, has decided to join Videology and recast his career in technology is significant in several ways," said Scott Ferber, Chairman and CEO, Videology. "First, his move is a testament to how intricately bound technology has become with marketing. Second, his decision to join Videology is further validation that our vision for uniting television and video planning into a seamless platform is in sync with the direction that agencies and advertisers are moving. And finally, Tim's choice is a vote of confidence that our technology is viewed as the leader in the industry in terms of providing a unified cross-screen platform."
This announcement comes on the heels of several recent moves by Videology to strengthen its technology and leadership in connecting the linear TV and digital video ecosystem. Last month, the company announced the launch of a dedicated TV Practice with the goal of unifying and accelerating its television initiatives, including products designed to plan, execute, measure and optimize cross-screen linear television and digital video advertising campaigns, as well as its industry-leading work in advanced, addressable television. Earlier this week, Videology announced that it had been chosen as the technology integrator for digital video within the Mediaocean TV-buying platform, allowing media planners and buyers to create holistic campaigns from a single interface.
With over 20 years of industry experience, Castree's management experience spans creative, media and integrated agencies. Prior to joining Videology, Castree was Chief Operating Officer for MediaVest U.S. In this role he ran the daily operations at MediaVest, and led major client accounts including American Honda Motor Company, Mondelez, Coca-Cola, Microsoft and Sprint. Prior to his role at MediaVest, Castree was President, Global Managing Director, for Starcom MediaVest Group, leading the global P&G business which spanned 160 assignments in 70 countries, and in a previous role as Managing Director, oversaw marketers including Mars Wrigley, Wendy's and Heineken brands for North America. Castree also spent time at Leo Burnett and FCB in Melbourne, and also at FCB and Ogilvy New York. He was the head of account management at BBH New York before spending three years back in Australia as the CEO for Leo Burnett in Sydney, where under his leadership, Leo Burnett was named Australia's Agency of the Year.
"When thinking about the future of marketing, I cannot think of more exciting part of the business than media technology. Moreover, having worked with almost all major technology providers, I cannot name a more well-positioned company than Videology to capitalize on the enormous opportunity ahead surrounding cross-screen planning and optimization," added Castree. "The next few years are going to be transformative, and I can't wait to get started in helping to drive that change in a way that benefits our diverse partners and clients."
"We have a tremendous amount of forward momentum in the marketplace, and the addition of Tim to our team will catapult this progress to the next level. His experience in working for and with major media agencies, global advertisers and media companies--in short, all of our key customer bases--render him exceptionally well-qualified to position and align our technology offering with client needs," said Ryan Jamboretz, Chief Revenue Officer, Videology. "His perspective will be invaluable as we evolve our technology solutions to solve the challenges that brands are facing as television viewing continues to migrate across screens."
