100.7 Star And The Salvation Army Once Again Join Forces To Help The Homeless With The "Man in a Box Sleeping Bag" Drive
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This past February, during one of the coldest weeks of the winter, 100.7 Star partnered with The Salvation Army to raise awareness of family homelessness in Western Pennsylvania through the "Man in a Box" Campaign. Afternoon drive-time host, Flick, lived in a 4' x 8' Plexiglas structure in downtown Pittsburgh for three days with no heat. From that event, the idea of "The Man in a Box Sleeping Bag Drive" was born. Knowing how important the sleeping bag he used was for just those three days, Flick wanted to do something to help those who will desperately need a source of warmth during the upcoming weeks and months.
