Behind the Scenes Photos of 20th Century Fox Stars Discussed
HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The authors of Styling the Stars: Lost Treasures from the Twentieth Century Fox Archive, Angela Cartwright and Tom McLaren will be autographing books and discussing the stories behind this collection of rare studio continuity photos, this Thursday, October 9(th), at 7:00 PM, at The Grove's Barnes & Noble store (189 Grove Drive) in Los Angeles. Numerous special guest stars are expected to be in attendance.
Cartwright ("The Sound of Music", "Lost in Space"), worked on the book with co-author, actor Tom McLaren for several years. The two writers spent countless hours pouring over rare photos of screen legends Marilyn Monroe, Cary Grant, Julie Andrews, Paul Newman, Audrey Hepburn, Doris Day and stars of many of history's greatest movies, as they painstakingly selected these special hair, make-up and wardrobe test shots from the Fox archive. These beautiful, never-before-seen images are captured in this rare book, published by Insight Editions with a foreword written by actress Maureen O'Hara, one of the studios' top stars in the 1940's, who will be honored with a special Oscar by the Academy in 2014.
Styling the Stars is a stunning collector's volume of film and fashion photography, as well as an invaluable compendium of movie history.
